Ophir 1901 Ophir The Ophir was in most respects a typical light steam runabout of the period, with a 2-cylinder engine and tiller steering. However, in place of the usual single chain drive, it had a shaft drive in which the propeller shaft was an extension of the crankshaft running at quiet a sharp angle from just below the floor of the rear axle.[1] [1] Georgano, G.
